- What is the Wise Woman Award?
The Nunavut Wise Woman of the Year Award is meant to honor a woman who is a role model in their community and who provides volunteer, counseling and caregiver service to others. It recognizes the advocacy work, the support and education given to improve the status of women in Nunavut. The award is meant to encourage women to continue their good work.
- Who is Eligible?
Women of all ages are eligible for nomination and selection. A Wise Woman Award is given only once in a lifetime. Nominations will be accepted for women who are alive. If a deceased woman is nominated, they will be given honorable mention at the award ceremonies.
- How are Women Nominated?
A nomination form must be filled out and returned to QNSW either through fax, email or by dropping it off at our office. All contact information is provided on the nomination forms which are available here in English and Inuktitut.
- When are the Nominations Due?
Nominations are due Wednesday February 24th before 5pm ET.
