FAFIA in the North

In late January 2009, the Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA) visited two communities in Nunavut to host a workshop on how international human rights can be used in local advocacy. The workshop allowed for the facilitation of discussions around how women can use the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Violence Against Women (CEDAW). Many women participated in the two-day workshop and were inspired to learn about their rights on the international stage and how to apply them to local realities.
